It's About Who He Is!!!

There was a lot of thoughts running through my head as I was working on this sermon. Thoughts about how we tend to make this whole Christian journey about us. Thoughts about how we look at standards and ourselves and how we standardize our behavior and then declare that to be Christianity. The simple truth is that we are not called to do this as Christians. As Christians we are called to reveal God to the world. It is not about us then; it is about Him. It's a paradigm shift in thought for the modern Christian. We look at our behavior and we order our lives a certain way to make sure we fit the Christian standard but with honesty and a deep searching of the heart will reveal such activities typically is motivated by self-preservation and not love for God. God calls us higher. He calls us to stop being so self absorbed and to become God absorbed for after all it is only be seeing Him that we can even hope to become changed.

Our Great Calling

This was one of those Sabbaths where you can teach and preach but your passion gets in the way and spills all over the place. I actually had to stop myself due to the fact that I was starting to repeat how important that it was that we as Christians are called to the light in a darkened world. The light of God's love and the force that corrects the way He has been misrepresented. So the sound people that were recording the sermon stopped the recording after they heard me comment I really have to stop myself now because it was getting close to 12:30 but the fact is I went on for about five more minutes. Here is the sum of the matter. The failproof test of a person's walk with Christ is that person's capacity to love.

The sermon was taken from Romans 10.

Romans 9 : Israel A Spiritual Condition

Here is the sermon from August 11. I attempted to preach the entirety of Romans 9 in one sermon. The message of Romans 9 is a sort of lament concerning Israel and within the constructs of the message we find a warning for the church today. I will move on to Romans 10 on August 18 where we will see the particular nature of the calling of the Christian and how it relates to Judaism. Meantime enjoy:

The Elusive Sermon Captured

By George he has done it. The sound system guru and comptuer afficianado Edward Dixon the younger has captured the elusive sermon from a week ago. While we still are facing some techie challenges in our sound booth I am confident with men like Edward involved we shall soon see a brilliant resolution.

The sermon I am posting today is from last week. I will post todays sermon tomorrow for the sake of sequencing on this site. Once that is done I will be thoroughly caught up with the posting of my sermons and can begin putting up other's work.

The sermon "The Question of Who" comes from the Letter to the Romans8:31-39. In this sermon I was admittedly excited and was hoping that my church would get the message and understand how blessed they are in Christ. I hope that you enjoy it and understand just how blessed you are in Christ as well.

Romans 8:28-30 For Good

Ok Edward, my sound guru, and I have finally touched base and we have recovered the sermon from three weeks ago. This sermon is taken from Romans 8:28-30. It is entitled "For Good". In this sermon I touch on the fact that God uses all things both good and bad in order to bring about His will for our lives. With a short foray into Romans 9 and touching on the concept that God "creates vessels for the purpose of destruction" and demonstrating how even then it would be for our good. Concerning that concept we will be delving into Romans 9 this week so tune in to get a greater understanding of the concept because it will be presented.

Here is the sermon, God Bless,

Latest

Hey thank God it is Friday, Preparation day, and I am so ready for the Sabbath.

Recent additions to the site have seemed to drop off. I have a number of items to upload and get online so thank you for your patience. I have secured permission from Light Bearers Ministry to make their bible studies available on this site so look for them to appear soon. I also have two complete sermon series by Pastor Andre Van Heerdeen for your listening pleasure and a number of sermons from guest speakers. So I have plenty of material to get posted.

Some have asked about the last sermon in the book of Romans. It is recorded but it was flawed and my sound guru Edward Dixon 3rd has corrected it and I just have to get it from him to post. So be looking for all of these things to appear in the very near future.

God Bless and Happy Sabbath,

Brad
