Happy Sabbath

Happy Sabbath

I have placed this video on my site in order that you may contemplate the great wonders of the God who has taken us in our brokeness, given to us His sufficiency, and even now provides for us the very strength we need to sustain us from day to day. May you be blessed and may God be glorified.

Amen

Stumbling Blocks... what are they?

In Romans 14 Paul addresses stumbling blocks. Are they evil things or can our good be a stumbling block as well?

Any Day You Choose can Be Sacred?

In Romans 14:5-12 we find a text that sounds to some as if Paul is saying any day that you choose can be your Sabbath. I have heard many sincere Christians quoting this text as the reason they do not keep the Sabbath as described in the Ten Commandments on the 7th day. The typical way this is quoted is, "Paul writes that to some a day is sacred and to others everyday is sacred and that concerning the day we see as sacred is up to us. We must all be convinced in our own minds." But is that what Paul was writing to Rome? Is that what God would have us understand today? May God Bless you as you listen to:

Vegetarians Are Weak In The Faith!?!

You've read it and you've heard it from someone before, "The bible clearly says that Christians who abstain from eating certain foods are weak in the faith." The question I have to ask is does Romans 14 really say that?

Get Your Own Faith!

In the church I am pastoring we have made it to the "infamous" chapter of Romans. Romans 14. It is from Romans 14 that many very sincere and well meaning Christians believe they are granted freedom to eat anything on the planet and freedom to call any day sacred that they wish. Romans 14 is often used as a "proof text" that consuming unclean meat is sanctioned in the Word of God and that Sabbath is no longer a prescribed day to hold sacred but we can each determine what day we choose to hold sacred, "willy nilly".

If you should choose to study Romans 14 you would soon come to realize that the point and the underlying principles of the chapter have nothing to do with Sabbath and sacred days and has even less to do with whether we can eat unclean meat or not. In this sermon we take a introductory view of the foundational principles of the chapter and having done so we will better understand what Paul is writing in this often misunderstood section of the Roman letter.

Latest News

As you can see from my latest upload there were about thirty days between postings. I had the privilege of enjoying some powerful meetings during the month of March. Two weekends in March was spent ministering alongside a great team of men in Men's ministries. I will try and get some of the highlights posted from both last year's meeting and this year. I also had the wonderful privilege of participating in VBS workshop with teh Florida conference family ministries team. This was an excellent adventure in the city of Miami. If you have never been challenged with navigation of streets I challenge you to cruise in Miami.

Over the next few months I will be placing new material on the site, changing some of the pages, and updating some of the content. I really desire to begin writing a substantial blog on some topic concerning faith and the world we live in today. Look for this to come soon.

Meanwhile enjoy Celtic Woman - The Prayer
